You need to file a return if you meet any of the following criteria: 2013 – 2014 California State Income TaCalifornia Income Taxesx Filing Rates and Forms

    Filing Single with one or no dependents and under the age of 65. And your California adjusted gross income between $11,310 – $21,110.

    Filing as the Head of Household with one or no dependents and under the age of 65. And your California adjusted gross income between $11,310 – $21,110.

    Married Filing Jointly with one dependent or none and under the age of 65. And your Adjusted Gross Income is between $22,620 – $32,420.

    If you are filing Single and have more than 2 dependents and under age of 65. And your Adjusted Gross Income is at least $31,288.

    If you are filing as Head of household and have more than 2 dependents and under age of 65. And your Adjusted Gross Income is at least $31,288.

E File State Taxes

    If you are filing married filing jointly with 2 or more dependents and under the age of 65. And your Adjusted Gross Income is at least $45,426.

While we suggest filing your taxes online because it provides an error proof process, if you are interested in filing a paper return or just want to review the actual form, you can check out the California State tax forms here.

Remember, if you owe less than $10,000 for your personal taxes, you can normally get a payment plan with the State of California. In order to do that, you will have to apply for the plan through the State. If you would like to either pay or receive your refund as quickly as possible then you should e-file your state tax return.
